POSITION OVERVIEW
Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Reports to: Board of Directors
Location: Marrakech, Morocco (with travel requirements nationally and internationally)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience + comprehensive benefits package
The CEO will serve as the principal leader and strategist of MasterPeace Morocco, responsible for the overall vision, operational excellence, financial sustainability, and strategic growth of the foundation. This role requires an exceptional leader who can bridge sectors, inspire diverse stakeholders, and drive measurable social impact while maintaining the highest standards of governance and organizational integrity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and implement the foundation’s strategic plan in alignment with the Board of Directors, ensuring relevance to Morocco’s evolving social landscape
- Provide visionary leadership that positions MasterPeace Morocco as a leading peace-building and youth empowerment organization in North Africa
- Identify emerging opportunities and threats in the civil society sector, adapting organizational strategy accordingly
- Foster innovation in program design and delivery while maintaining fidelity to the foundation’s core mission and values
- Represent the foundation at national and international forums, conferences, and high-level meetings
Organizational Management & Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations ensuring efficiency, accountability, and mission alignment across all departments
- Build and lead a high-performing team through effective recruitment, professional development, performance management, and succession planning
- Establish and maintain robust organizational systems, policies, and procedures that ensure compliance with Moroccan law and international best practices
- Drive a culture of excellence, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Ensure effective risk management and organizational resilience
Financial Sustainability & Resource Mobilization
- Develop and execute a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy targeting institutional donors, corporate partners, foundations, and individual philanthropists
- Oversee annual budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal management ensuring organizational sustainability and growth
- Cultivate relationships with existing funders while identifying and securing new funding streams
- Ensure rigorous financial controls, transparency, and compliance with donor requirements and regulatory frameworks
- Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to the Board of Directors
Program Development & Impact
- Provide strategic oversight for program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
- Ensure programs deliver measurable social impact and align with evidence-based practices in peace-building and youth development
- Champion innovation in addressing complex social challenges including youth unemployment, social exclusion, and community fragmentation
- Foster partnerships with governmental agencies, UN organizations, NGOs, academic institutions, and private sector actors
- Ensure effective knowledge management and organizational learning systems
Stakeholder Engagement & External Relations
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and public face of the foundation
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government ministries, international organizations, civil society networks, and media outlets
- Cultivate relationships with Board members, ensuring effective governance and strategic guidance
- Engage with beneficiaries and communities ensuring programs remain responsive and relevant
- Enhance the foundation’s brand, visibility, and reputation through strategic communications and advocacy
Governance & Compliance
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, providing timely information and recommendations for decision-making
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements
- Maintain the highest ethical standards and organizational integrity
- Prepare comprehensive reports for Board meetings and external stakeholders
- Lead organizational policy development and governance framework enhancement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Master’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related field
- Ph.D. or additional advanced degree preferred
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in the non-profit sector, international development, or social enterprise
- At least 5 years in executive leadership positions (CEO, Executive Director, Country Director, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-million dirham budgets and complex funding portfolios
- Proven track record in resource mobilization, securing grants from institutional donors, foundations, and government agencies
- Experience working with youth empowerment, peace-building, community development, or related social impact programs
- Success in building, leading, and developing high-performing multicultural teams
- Experience in stakeholder management across government, civil society, private sector, and international organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Established network within Morocco’s civil society, government, and international development sectors
- Experience working within the MasterPeace network or similar global movements
- Background in conflict resolution, mediation, or peace-building
- Understanding of Morocco’s socio-political landscape and development priorities
- Experience with digital transformation and innovation in the social sector
- Proven success in scaling organizations and programs
- Multilingual capacity (additional languages beyond Arabic, French, English)
- Experience in North Africa or MENA region
